Shrink Wrap Recycling

Wakeside is proud to participate in the Michigan Clean Marina Shrink-wrap Recycling Program. This program is coordinated by the Michigan Recycling Coalition to reduce plastic waste in the boating industry. Michigan has over 800,000 registered boats, and the majority of them are wrapped in single-use plastic each year.

All shrink wrap will be gathered and returned to the shrink-wrap manufacturer to be recycled into next year’s shrink wrap.

Wakeside Marine in Fenton is the only provider in the area to offer this free service to our shrink-wrap customers.

Pontoon Deck Replacement

Our specialty is pontoon deck replacement. We start by removing the railings, seats, console and carpet. If the marine-grade plywood (all pontoon boats have it) is damaged, we replace it. Then we repeat the process in reverse, installing a new floor, then the seats, console and railings. The entire process takes about a week, but afterwards you have the equivalent of a new pontoon boat.

The total cost for pontoon deck replacement varies according to several factors:

  • Does the wood deck floor need replacement (all or part)?
  • What grade of flooring will we be installing?
  • Will we be re-installing your old seats or do you want new ones?
  • Do the railings need to be replaced?
  • Any other repairs

This is the most common question we are asked. Without seeing the boat or troubleshooting the problem first, the best we can give you is a price range. However, in our experience our prices are always competitive and we offer a full guarantee on our work.

Our business is seasonal. We are the most busy just before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. During those peak periods it will take longer to get to your boat. Any other time of the year, we can get to your boat more quickly.

All engine repairs carry a 60-day guarantee from the period of completion by our trusted professional marine mechanics. Our boat repair pros have been providing the highest quality marine repairs in all of Fenton and Linden.

Repairs or maintenance are typically paid for at the time of completion. For larger projects like pontoon deck replacement we may ask for a deposit before starting the job to help pay for the materials. Of course, we take cash, checks or credit cards.
